Welcome to our 18th Annual Sale.

As you can see there is a new name this year. Sage Simmentals is Jordan and Justines’s new branch off Swantewitt for their herd so watch for their letters in the catalog. The family has continued to expand with Darian and Austin adding another girl, Elsie Jo Ashbacher to their family. Jordan and Randy are also expecting baby #2 in July.

This year we have a great selection of polled full fleckvieh bulls as well as traditional horned fleckvieh bulls sired by our homozygous polled Keet’s Furtive herd sire as well as the Open Range calving ease bull. New genetics coming from our Wolfe Fitzroy bull who is proving to be a calving ease sire as well as to have all that thick muscle. We also used a new heifer bull out of FGAF Guerrero and he has a couple sons on offer as well. In our purebred program there are a good variety of homozygous polled red and black sons. Lots of calving ease sons from our 90 Proof heifer bull as well as power and growth bulls from Everest and Cayenne. We also have many of the LFE RS Lewis sons available and find that he calves great on cows without giving up any muscle. Our new red bulls are the SRH Gladiator bull who has many homozygous polled sons out of great, mature females and our homegrown Gibraltar bull sired by the LFE Amber Jack bull who also calves fantastic and produces many dark red calves. We strive to produce bulls to fit a variety of programs and all are semen tested and guaranteed. Our replacement heifer calves are heifers that represent out herd and breeding program as a whole. All the calves at the sale have been through a 5 day halter breaking program and vaccinated with Presponse HM, Express 5, Vision 8 with somnugen, and dewormed with Bovimectin as well as Cylence or Clean Up II. We select our sale calves from our herd of 350 registered cows focusing on soundness, temperament, udder structure, and longevity as well as calving ease. To us it’s more important to have an unassisted calf than an assisted one with a low birthweight. No one has the time to be pulling calves in this busy day and age. That being said each calf is weighed on a digital scale within 24 hours of birth. Halter breaking helps to ensure the calves are willing to be handled and we definitely feel it is worth the effort for our customers.

We will once again be having a Farm Gate Timed Auction sale this year as it was very successful last year. The bulls will be available to view on farm at any time, however they will be in pens for the buyers convenience starting Wednesday, March 9th.

Feel free to stop by whenever or check out the bulls online. Snacks and coffee will be provided daily! Videos will be posted of each bull on our website at www.swantewittsimmentals.ca. The sale will be hosted by DLMS.
